What is Privé?

Privé is a membership-based luxury shopping service that gives you access to European luxury goods at prices below what you would pay at home. Privé purchases your item brand-new directly from the brand or its authorized European retailers at the VAT-exempt export price, handles all export documentation, customs and tariffs, and delivers it fully insured to your door. Members typically save 10–30% versus buying the same item at home, with no flights, no paperwork, and no airport lines.

How Privé works

1. Browse the marketplace in the Privé iOS app or web shop, or request a specific piece you've found from any European retailer.
2. We purchase the item directly from the brand or its authorized retailer at the VAT-exempt export price and prepare all export documentation.
3. Your order ships fully insured via DHL, door to door, with all customs duties, tariffs, and taxes already included in your final price.

What membership costs

Privé Concierge membership is $495 per year, or $49 per month. Membership unlocks four tiers based on your activity and purchase volume: Insider, Jetsetter, Globetrotter, and First Class, each with increasing benefits as you shop. A single substantial order can more than cover the annual fee. Our published example prices the Celine Mini Victoire at $5,011 for members versus $6,445 at U.S. retail including sales tax: $1,434 saved on one bag.

What you can buy

Most physical goods are eligible: luxury fashion, clothing, and shoes; leather handbags and goods; jewelry and watches; beauty and pharmacy products; and electronics. We source from more than 20 European luxury houses, including Hermès, Celine, Dior, and Moncler. Some items may be restricted or excluded by export controls, brand limitations, or customs regulations, such as goods made from exotic materials.

What Privé is not

Privé is not traditional tax-free travel shopping. There is no flight, no passport paperwork, and no refund queue at the airport, because you never pay VAT in the first place. (Here is how that differs from a tourist VAT refund.) Privé is also not a reseller: every item is purchased directly from the brand or its authorized retailers. Delivery is currently available in the United States.
